  1. That's a great system, it's very similar to the one I just bought. Except I got a different screen and the smaller harddrive. Otherwise, I got the same as you. Go to notebookreview.com if you want some reviews of it. It will be able to play your games, but I am not sure on what setting.

The processor question is false. It does not add up to 3.6ghz.

  2. It sounds great! Good choice! Good luck!

  3. that setup will run those games just fine. And to answer the second question, no it doesn't. What makes the core 2s fast is that it doesn't take away cpu process power to maintain mundain processes in the background, leaving full cpu power on a game (or anything else for that matter) Whereas a P4 would have to would have to control all system processes on a single core, slowing it down. It is all about effeciency.

  4. That should handle your gaming task well, please consider the WSXGA LCD screen. This will raise your screen resolution, which will lead to a more enjoyable experience. My daughter uses a 1505 with about the same specs but with the WSXGA LCD and 3 GB of RAM. It's a fast system for all she does with it.....

The second question...no, some programs and even games can spread the work over the two cores.

  5. It should be good for gaming, but since it's a Dell, it is very unreliable and low quality. If you want a laptop that's good for gaming, very reliable with high quality, you should get a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I have one, and I love it. I would highly recommend it.

  6. It is a very good gaming unit, another choice you should consider is the Toshiba X205 which comes with a NV8700 although slightly more expensive,
