Build Your Own Gaming Notebook

What is a good laptop for gaming?

I currently have a sony vaio pentium 4 512 ram 64 mb radeon video but when I tried to play games like doom 3 and command and conquer tiberian sun it lagged. I want a notebook that will play these games very smoothly on normal if not high graphic settings. I would also like it to have built in wireless. Thanks.

  1. Alienware is the only way to go.

  2. one with minesweeper! lol

  3. The one that got a good Video card

  4. Your Ram is way too small...i think games like that need at least 2Gb Ram

  5. if you want a new one then take one with intel 2.0 p4 and 256 mb 7600 nVidia graphic card and 2 gb for ram it is the best for gaming

  6. Tobisha

  7. If you check, you might be able to increase the ram of your current computer. If it is currently 512, you may be able to increase to 1024 or possibly even 2 Gb. You need to know if you have an empty slot. Also can you change the current memory chip to increase it? Would probably be less expensive than buying a new laptop since all you want is to play games.

  8. Something that has at least 1 GB of RAM, at least 128 MB of video memory (like the Mobility Radeon X600), and at least more than 1.5 GHz (but I recommend 2GHz or more). And it has to be Pentium, not Celeron. Celeron is slower.

  9. You cannot upgrade your current laptop as the integrated card cannot be removed.

Have a look at the Dell XPS, alienware Area 51 m5550, asus g1(s) and asus c90.

To play these games well get a minimum of an nvidia 7400 or ATI x1400.

  10. Dell XPS Laptops are great for gaming. If you want mobile capability (if you want to bring them anywhere 4.4 lbs), Get the Dell XPS M1210, plays Doom 3 with ease!
