  1. What video card? most important for gaming is the video card. Get mimium of 256 mb of geforce 8 series card

  2. acer is great

  3. For gaming, one of the most important things to look for would be the video card - with the power of today's games you should be looking for an absolute minimum 256MB card, preferably higher.

However, from the information you have given, the Acer would be better as it has 2GB of DDR2 RAM memory.

    I hope this has helped.

  4. neither are good for gaming. both have an onboard video card with shared memory. the only games you will be satisfied playing with those are 2D games. If you plan on playing 3D games you will just be frustrated. What you need is a laptop with a discrete video card. But if you have no other choice, the Acer would be the one to get just basing on the specs.

For about the same price or lower you can get better specs at dell. check out the link below.

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5470 (1.6GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)

    Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic

15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA LCD Display with TrueLife™

1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 DIMM

    120G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

    8X CD/DVD Burner w/ double-layer DVD+R write capability

    128MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8400M GS

Dell Exclusive MediaDirect™ Instant Play Software Application

    Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Wi-Fi Mini Card

This is also a decent system for playing not so heavy 3D games.

for $30 more you can add built-in camera

for $20 more you can add built-in bluetooth support.

The savings you make, you buy an additional 1GB RAM.

  5. neither of these would be able to run games at high settings.

If you really want to game on a laptop try a Dell XPS or Alienware model with a graphics card built in.

There are other companies that build gaming laptops like Falcon Northwest.

Even a stock model with an integrated Nvidia or ATI card would be better than a model with basic integrated graphics with shared ram.

  6. of coarse Acer, but check out the speed of the processor which one is faster, the higher the "ghz" the faster the laptop.
