What are some really good reasons to buy a laptop/notebook?

i already have 2 desktop computers at home (one for general use and one i built for gaming). i really want to buy a laptop, and i know which one i want and i have enough for it, but i don't want to make the mistake of buying it and then finding out i really don't need it.

2. Its better to ask yourself whether or not your desktops do enough for you.... Laptops carry a few advantages such as portability, and laptops tend to be a good fusion between gaming and general purpose use.... Laptops though more expensive from the start are also cheaper to maintain.... umm... really its better for people who need to access there files or take notes while there out whether its for school or work.... if your looking to buy just for around the house use.... then your desktops will most like do the trick


3. Some people are space restricted and others want the portability.

   Bottom line - if you have to ask for a good reason to buy one, you obviously don't need it.

I'm a college student and I asked my mom to buy me a laptop as her graduation gift for me.As for my personal opinion,one of the good reasons of buying a laptop is that I can bring it to school and avail free internet because we have wifi at our campus.Another reason is that whenever we have group projects I can just bring this portable computer at school and let my group mates help together with doing the project.Laptop serves good use also whenever we have class presentations.Lastly,laptop is more personal than a desktop.It's your own computer and you can simply use it outside the house.Otherwise,if you can survive not being able to bring your computer anywhere outside the house then better stick with your desktops because other than portability I can't see no other good reasons to spend a huge amount of penny for a laptop.But if you got excess money as you had stated,then purchase one because it's also cool to have one.
