ATI vs Intel chipsets for notebooks? I'm looking to buying a Laptop within the 600-900$ range and most of them either have integrated graphics or ATI cards. Are there any major differences between the 2 besides that Intel chips suck at gaming. If you know of any notebooks with a good deal that's available in Canada could you please post a link? Please and Thanks!

intel x3100 or nvidia 8400m gs in notebooks, specific concerns: heat, processor performance, battery life? I recently purchased a notebook with intel x3100 graphics acclerator. i won't be playing games on my notebook, so i was satisfied with the deal i got. now, the same notebook is $10 less with nvidia 8400m gs. now, the HD is 120G vs. 160G on mine, that is not a concern. my specific questions are, if i get the nvidia card will it make the notebook hot on the bottom, will it drain the battery faster (i mean worth noting) and will it slow the processor/computer down worth mentioning. i have a very sufficient processor so it is not currently strained in the slightest. i know this is a better deal, but unless the x3100 will not play video via the internet that is 1080, it's no big deal for me. i just want max battery life and speed primarily. of course i like not burning my legs with the notebook either, so if anyone could offer advice, i would be very thankful.

Does the OCZ 17" Gaming DIY Laptop Come With Video Cards? I'm on the market for a new gaming laptop so my first instinct was to go to Alienware I assumed that would be the easiest way to get a good laptop. However the cost is pushing me to the DIY laptop option that I think would be better in the long run. I've found a good DIY laptop but as I am new to building laptops I'm confused. Does the OCZ 17" DIY laptop (link below) come with the graphics cards already installed or do I have to purchase them separately? Also if anyone has any advice on building my own laptop it would be appreciated. -Link- (http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/diy_notebooks/ocz_diy_17-gaming_notebook-small_intel-ati_crossfire_edition-small_) The laptop I'm interested in is the Intel - ATI - Crossfire edition.

i need a gaming laptop under 1000.00? OK I need a gaming laptop, I don't want to spend over $1000.00. I need these things at least a intel core i-5 or i-7 and a lots of ram and amazing graphics. Where here's what I found, Fry's huge electronic store. first Toshiba Q885 18.4" Gaming Notebook featuring an Intel Core i5-450M processor with 4GB DDR3 memory and GTS 360M 1GB DDR5 Graphics AND !!! ........ which of these notebooks are best for gaming? (10 points)? I'd like to play Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (and maybe Black Ops when it comes out) on medium to high graphics settings. okay I really don't have all that much money so my choice would come down to these two following laptops... ---------------------------------------- SONY VAIO E SERIES (VPCEB190X): -Intel® Core™ i5-520M processor (2.40GHz) with Turbo Boost up to 2.93GHz -320GB Hard Disk Drive (5400rpm) -4GB (4GBx1) DDR3-SDRAM-1066 -ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 GPU (512MB VRAM) Price (w/ tax): $890.00 ---------------------------------------- OR A: ---------------------------------------- HP PAVILION DV6Z SERIES: -AMD Turion(TM) II Dual-Core Mobile Processor N530 (2.5GHz, 2MB L2 Cache) -320GB 7200RPM SATA -4GB DDR3 (2 Dimm) -1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650 Price (w/ tax): $862.68 ---------------------------------------- So to recap, I wanna play BFBC2, some MW2 and other fun games at full native (of the display) resoultion at medium to high graphics WITHOUT lag. Will one of these notebooks suffice? And which one is better for the price? Right now I'm sorta leaning towards the HP one. My only question is "is the AMD processor better than the Intel Core i5?" And I know this sounds silly, but does the ATI Radeon 5650 have a big difference with the 5470 (I mean, it's 200 apart...)? Please answer my questions truthfully and accurately: the last thing I want to do is take someone's advice from yahoo answers and find that it sucks at running said games.

PC gaming problem-PC Software!? I just bought a PC game, Resident Evil 5, thinking the game play was going to run smoothly just like an XBox or PS3 system. However, it plays frame by frame, and it is slow towards keyboard input. My computer (HP notebook-3GB ram/ 250GB hard drive/ Windows Vista) has the minimum specs the game outlined. I ran a systems check on the option menu for the game and I noticed the refresh frame was 60Hz, and after a benchtest, the results were average: 2.5-3.4 fps, (Grade-C) given by the game. My notebook specs: Intel(R) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz Mobile Intel (R) 965 Express Chipset Family 1280X720X32bit (ARGB8) DirectX 9.0c I DO NOT HAVE NVIDIA video card What should I do to improve the smooth performance of my gameplay? Thanks.
